Decisions & Divisions

I have a decision to make. Well, several really. And I think I’m afraid of making a mistake, but mistakes are necessary because it is how we learn and grow.

There can be no maturing without risk.

But what if the decision isn’t clear? What if it’s a gut feeling I’ve been sitting on for a year?

Here is what I’ve realized: Deciding not to decide is still a decision.

I’m frustrated with the state of our culture. Tolerance is now a high speed train heading straight for those who do not outwardly support a liberal agenda. And sadly . . .

. . . cancel culture has now entered the church.

I do not hold to tradition for tradition’s sake. In fact, I could care less about the way its always been done. I am a person who is relentless in finding and understanding the why for the what.

Well, I’m not here to argue. With anyone. About anything.

Arguing is a pointless waste of time. And I refuse to spend time defending what needs no defense.

And here I now sit, looking at impending change. Change that I must lead through, without knowing the perfect way through or quite where the destination is—more out of someplace instead of to another place.

Not everyone can come. Not everyone should come.

A rather legendary leader at the Fortune 500 company I spent 11 years leading at used to say, “You’re only a leader if people are following you.”

I guess we’ll see.
